The Kite Runner

The hype surrounding The Kite Runner is all true. It’s moving in a heartbreaking kind of way, completely depressing and yet superbly written, but most importantly, it’s a clear window into Afghanistan: what it used to be and what it has become.

This was a hard book to read, emotionally. I’m glad to have read it but profoundly glad to be done with it. I’m going to have to stick to some light reading for a while.
